Richard Cail's pics...

Richard Cail (HHS 1961-1966), has just been in touch, and here are his pics!

Comments on names etc., would be welcome from everyone, by clicking on the link at the bottom of the post!

In the swimming photo, on the far horizon between the master's head and the bush, would be my family home, at Broad Oak! On a clear day, I could just make the place out if the sun was shining! Commander Campbell, a Maths master at HHS around 1960, once lent me his naval telescope, and I had the perfect view of our back garden! My mum was a bit concerned at that...!

Edwin Morton R.I.P.

Edwin Morton

Sad news from friends here.

Here is a link to celebrate our chum, Edwin.

There was a Facebook reference, but this has been closed out for some reason!

The old HHS mags are a bit sketchy on many details, which is not really surprising I suppose, but a quick scan through the 1965 Edition, shows that Edwin was a member of the P.E Team, which made a display with 'Crichton, Docwra i, Dukes, Kell, Kyrke, Pender-Cudlipp, Ramsden, Scott, Tuite, Purser and Martin i...'!

Edwin was also in the 1964 Soccer team, - played 10, won 3, drawn 1, lost 7. The Team consisted of Morton, R.N.Seaward, S.T.Hickes, D.B.Kell, A.M.Scott, (Captain), R.H.J.V.Kyrke, Chrichton, Hickman i, Battersby, Dryborough-Smith and Martin i.

Edwin also gave the school a contribution to The Filter Fund, presumably because he, like most of us, rather liked the idea of swimming in water which was a bit clearer than of late..!

Edwin went on to Eastbourne College, where no doubt, there may well be other news from their Alumni Society!

In time-honoured fashion, our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and many friends.
